Companies should really pay attention to students

There are only a handful of companies that truly get design. Examples are Nike, Starbucks, Apple, Motorola, Virgin and especially TARGET.

Target designs products at modest prices and they are now using designers to reinvent products. A new medicine bottle has been designed to ensure safety, and an easy way to open it. The medicine bottle ClearRX was designed by Deborah Adler while she was still a student at New York School of Visual Arts.

The new medicine bottle has easy to read labels, it is color coded and a removable information card.

This is one example of a student coming up with a solution and a design for a large company. Other success stories include how Nike paid $35 to a Portland State art student for its Swoosh. Also Maya Lin designed the Vietnam memorial as a student.
